Moos – Germany

Right from the start regional politicians and residents living in the municipality of Geroldshausen close to Würzburg were united in wanting a solar park to secure the future supply of environmentally friendly electricity. In the district of Moos the ideal location was swiftly found.

One of the largest ground-mounted solar plants in Southern Germany was built using around 160,000 solar panels.

The cooperation with a wind park has allowed the joint operation of a transformer station, enabling the energy generated to be fed directly into the high voltage grid and marking the start of Moos solar power plant’s production of just under 17 million kWh of electricity per year.
